The PS3 Break USB JailBreaking drive is a very simple and small USB drive that allows your PS3 to enter debug mode and thus run unsigned code on your console. This allows you to run homebrew games and applications, as well as game backups from the hard drive!
Its amazing features make it the best JailBreak solution on the market: improved reading speeds, backup manager for copying and playing games to the HDD, plug & play USB support, homebrew games, simple to install! Make sure to check out the full features list from the tab above.
Attention: do not update your PS3 console to 3.42, the latest update (September 7th), as there is currently no confirmed working jailbreaking solution available for this firmware version. The PS3BREAK is updatable but the release of a firmware upgrade hasn't been announced yet.
The PS3 Break when updated with its latest firmware, offers the following features (as seen on the official website):

@Edwin I don't know which one you got but mine is upgradeable. I read this at gbatemp: http://www.romkids.de/2010-09/ps3break-neue-version-ist-nicht-updatebar.htm%29 basically it says the PS3 break manufacturer started using a different chip and its upgradable but maybe not as easily as with the other chip.

this is cheaper design using the PIC micro-controller, and it seems these cheaper ones have NOT been flashed with a boot-loader, which means they are NOT UPGRADEABLE making the end-user stuck in having to buy more hardware and do some soldering if he wishes to update the device.
